If you have recently taken your car through one of those modern vehicle wash resources, you know just how sophisticated they have become. It can seem as if you’re going on quite the adventure when you sit inside your car and watch the machinery and technology go to work to transform the exterior of your vehicle. These machines even seem capable of doing a good job on the wheels as well, traditionally a difficult place to access.
We seem to be always strapped for time and our automated vehicle washing places are excellent resources for us, making us feel proud of how our car looks again. Don’t forget, however, that there’s a lot more to keeping up the appearance of your vehicle and while it might look sparkling outside, you should make sure that you schedule a thorough car cleanup session to include the inside as well, on a regular basis.
To ensure that your car cleanup is well planned and covers all the bases, make sure that you pay particular attention to the inside of the vehicle as well as the place that you store it. A car cleanup cannot be complete unless the inside looks equally as impressive as the outside. Unfortunately, we cannot drive our car through an automated station to clean the inside as this requires a bit of application!
Just look at the state of the windows inside your car and you will be amazed to see that they are as dirty as the exterior surface. The trick here is not to use disposable paper towels with your glass cleaner, but instead keep those old newspapers and use them instead. Notice the difference? You will be helping your eyesight as well, and you won’t have to be squinting through the window to try and see where you are going!
Think about all that junk that you accumulate inside your vehicle as time goes by. When you’re finished with your paper cup, you throw it behind the seat. Any old CDs and random receipts, you stuff in the glove compartment. Over time, you will be amazed how much excess weight you are carrying around, all of which is not doing much for your fuel economy, is it? Bring out the laundry basket from the utility room, fill it up with everything that’s in the car and take it back inside to sort through. Throw out the junk and store what you need to keep during this car cleanup session.
As soon as you finish cleaning up the inside of the car and are happy with the results, get some car mats to save anymore damage to the carpet. It’s very expensive to replace in a typical car and if you use these mats you can cut down on your car cleanup session time in the future.
Don’t overlook the state of your garage, just because it is a utilitarian place. Invest a little bit of time and effort here by putting floor mats underneath each vehicle. This will make a great difference to the look of the room, as they absorb rainwater and other debris that would otherwise flow from the vehicle and could damage anything that you have stored in there.
When you have completely finished your car cleanup and made sure that the garage is kept to a high standard by inserting garage floor mats, you should mark your calendar to make sure that you schedule this program on a regular basis. You are protecting your investments, don’t forget.

When you spot moisture on windows in your home, do you simply wipe it away, allow it to dry up itself, or ignore it? If you answered yes to any of these options, you could be facing some costly repair bills in the future. Window moisture should not be left untreated because it could cause wood around the window to rot or weaken the windows insulation.
Windows sweating is a result of water vapor mixed with air. Condensation on windows occurs when the window surface is a different temperature than the interior air or the relative humidity is too high in your home. Everyday activities, like cooking, showering, washing dishes, or doing the laundry all create a water vapor, but with proper heating and ventilation, it evaporates into the air.
If you have double glazing, look to see whether window moisture is on the inside of the outer window. If so, air and moisture is escaping from the inner window to the outer. If the condensation is on the inside of the inner pane, poor circulation in the home is trapping airborne water.
Numerous measures are available to help solve your window moisture problems. Consider covering the window with clear plastic, replacing your windows with more energy-efficient ones, inserting rope caulk into window cracks, using water absorbent socks, or a draft stopper. The absorbent sock and the draft stopper are easy to install, probably the most cost-effective and least time-consuming.
Tiny spaces around your window frames can be a primary cause of condensation. During the winter, moisture will form as cold air comes in from the outside. The cool window surface enables the condensation, but fitting a draft blocker around the window could ease this problem quite quickly.
A window moisture problem can often be attributed to drafts, so you should consider draft stoppers. These are flexible insulators, measuring 3″ x 42″, which can be fitted into pretty much any space without adhesive. If they get wet, they can simply be air dried and replaced. Due to their flexibility and relative low cost, they can be added to all the windows in your home. Save up to 25% of your annual utility bill, and give your heating and cooling systems a break.
A favored method to reduce water on windows is the installation of a water absorbent sock. These items absorb all the moisture and plug any openings around the window. Damage to window sills, window frames and flooring can be prevented and you can also avoid the paint peeling at the same time.
Products featuring water absorbent technology are becoming the preferred choice for collecting window moisture. They are inexpensive, can hold up to a gallon of water, and can be used over and over again. Because the exterior is made with a flexible nylon material and the interior is filled with fast-absorbing polypropylene, it can conform to any surface.

Every vehicle known to man is prone to leak. Engine, gearbox, radiator – fluids seem to come from everywhere. When this happens a garage floor car mat is very important to prevent the ground surface from being damaged, sometimes beyond repair. Amazingly, a permanent stain on a garage floor (or driveway) can lower your home’s retail value by 8 per cent or more. Use a garage floor car mat, as they are designed to catch drips from all parts of your car, ensuring that the ground is clean and free of stains. The mat is very absorbent and does not give the leak a chance to spread. Take the path of least resistance with the mat, and reduce wear and tear.
Many people find a garage floor car mat ideal when doing light maintenance on their vehicles, boats, or motorcycles. If you have a spill, there are no worries about damage done to the surface. Garage floor car mats are great for catching spills but may also be used for othe rpurposes. For example, insulation against rain or storm water beneath the garage door, or as an aid to prevent mud and other debris and even rock-salt from being tracked into the home. Simply put the mat in place for the next project, simple and effective.
A garage floor car mat helps keep the environment free of chemicals. Normally, you would use a chemical cleaner to scrub away garage floor stains and the dirty water would run down the driveway into the storm drain system. With a floor mat, the fluids are absorbed.
The best garage floor car mats are constructed for the job. A highly absorbent material is a necessity and polypropylene is the best. Polypropylene is also fireproof, which is important to note in this environment. You can also avoid accidents by ensuring that the mat is non-slip and has a bottom layer which is non-penetrable.
A garage floor car mat is a real time and energy saver. Who wants to spend their spare time cleaning up spills and scrubbing spots? The mat can be pressed into action in other areas of the home, including the basement and the patio. Where problem areas already exist, such as cracked concrete or old stains, use the mat to hide the evidence!
The garage floor car mat was designed to protect the garage floor but it can be used in a myriad of places. For example, under your favorite pet’s food or water bowl or beneath a barbeque grill on the patio. The mats come in a variety of sizes and can fit under all types and sizes of vehicles. As the mats can be cut to various sizes they can be used to line the trunk of a car or truck when transporting materials, containers or fluids that might spill over.
